Released: 10/14/2019

The AIMS v1.58 release includes several bug fixes and the following enhancements and new functionality:

  • Location Based Compliance Configuration (Incentives, Sanctions, Infraction Policy)
  • Integration of new location based compliance settings into hearings and activities

Location Based Compliance Configuration

Compliance Settings, found under System Administration, has been moved to Location Configuration, listed under “Specialty Court Settings.”

Location Configuration – Customizing Specialty Court Settings

For customers using AIMS for multiple locations, users now have the ability to customize Incentives (formerly “Rewards”), Sanctions and the Infraction Policy (formerly “Sanction Matrix”) for each location.

The existing compliance settings have been copied to the root level location and are inherited by all child locations. The administrator will need to add the View and Edit Incentives, Sanctions and Infraction Policies permissions to the appropriate roles so that users can view and manage these for the appropriate locations. When users access the area to customize Incentives, Sanctions or Infraction Policies for any child location for the first time, a banner is displayed stopping the user from making and changes unless they specifically choose to unlink it from the parent location.

Once the Customize button has been clicked, it cannot be reversed to allow updates from parent locations to these lists. Note that if Sanctions are customized for the location and therefore unlinked from the parent, Infraction policies will also be unlinked as Sanctions and Infractions are dependent on each other.

Location Configuration > Specialty Court Settings > Incentives

By moving these settings to Location Configuration, AIMS can now support customized Incentives for each location. Users with the appropriate permissions can access Incentive settings by going to Location Configuration –> Specialty Court Settings –> Incentives. Users can view the current list of Incentives and add Incentives by clicking the Add Incentive button.

When adding an Incentive, users can select from a drop-down list of possible System Incentives or a Custom Incentive, activate/deactivate the Incentive, and add any necessary information based on that incentive type.

Users can also edit existing Incentives in this list by selecting the checkbox next to the desired Incentive and clicking the Edit icon next to the Add Incentive button.

Similar to adding Incentives, editing Incentives allows users to select an Incentive from the drop-down list, add details and activate/deactivate the Incentive.

Location Configuration –> Specialty Court Settings –> Sanctions

AIMS now also supports customization of Sanctions for each location. Users with appropriate permissions can access Sanctions settings by going to Location Configuration –> Specialty Court Settings –> Sanctions. Users can view the current list of Sanctions and add Sanctions by clicking the Add Sanction button.

When adding a Sanction, users can select from a drop-down list of possible System Sanctions or a Custom Sanction.

Users can also edit existing Custom Sanctions by selecting the checkbox next to the desired Sanction and clicking the Edit icon next to the Add Sanction button. Users can also delete Sanctions from this list by selecting the checkbox next to the desired Sanction and clicking the Delete (trash) icon. Note that if a Sanction has been added to an Infraction Policy it must be removed prior to deletion.

Editing Custom Sanctions allows users to edit the description.

Location Configuration > Specialty Court Settings > Infraction Policy

AIMS now supports customization of Infraction Policies for each location. Users with the appropriate permissions can access Infraction Policy settings by going to Location Configuration –> Specialty Court Settings –> Infraction Policy. Users can view the current list of Infractions, the recommended Sanctions for each offense of an Infraction, and add Custom Infractions by clicking the Add Infraction button.

When adding an Infraction, users can add an Infraction Name, Description and activate/deactivate the Infraction.

When Infractions are added to the Infraction Policy, users can expand a specific Infraction by clicking the row of the Infraction or the arrow on the right side end of the row. Once the Infraction is expanded, users can see the list of Offenses and the recommended Sanctions for each Offense. Users can add Offenses by clicking the Add Offense button.

When adding an Offense, users can see the Offense # (how many times a Participant has had this infraction), select from a drop-down list of Recommended Sanctions and add Details. Users can click Add Another Recommended Sanction to add multiple Recommended Sanctions to an Offense.

Note that the last Offense for the Infraction will apply to all Offenses with that Offense number or higher.

Integration of new Location-Based Compliance Settings into Hearings and Activities

With all of the changes detailed above, users will notice the available list of Incentives, Sanctions and Policy Recommended Sanctions throughout the application (Bulk Entry –> Hearings; Activities –> Add Sanctions and Activities –> Add Incentives) will now be filtered to only display those configured for the location to which a Client Involvement belongs. Additionally, when reviewing a hearing, Policy Recommended Sanctions listed now will only list Sanctions for the highest Infraction Offense # that a Participant has made during the Hearing period, however, all other possible Sanctions will still be listed below.
